Project Description
Complete gut renovation of a 1,500 SF duplex. The renovation included replaing a utlility room with a bedroom and enlarging a 1/2 bath into a full bath to result in a 3-bedroom 3-bathroom duplex unit.
CONCEPT
The two-level space was conceived as an ascent from a dark, heavy, and rich materiality of the sleeping quarters at the lower level to a lighter, more luminous upper floor containing the living spaces with lots of natural light, expansive views of the city, and a large outdoor terrace.
The color and material palette of the furnishings carried the characteristics of the space: a dark, rich, lower level characterized by dark woods, leather, and wool which gives way to a light and airy upper level characterized by bleached timber, and light upholseries.
